The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
2181- Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not be established until wild beasts speak to humans, until the tip of a man’s whip or the strap of his sandal speaks to him, and until his own thigh informs him of what his family has done in his absence.”
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) foretold that among the signs of the Hour is that wild beasts will speak to people; that a man will be spoken to by the tip of his whip and the strap of his sandal (the strap being one of the thongs across the top of a sandal); and that a man’s own thigh will tell him what his family has done after he has left. These are extraordinary occurrences—outside the norm—which have been designated as signs of the approaching Hour; we believe in them according to their literal meaning.
From this noble Hadith, we learn the following:
It foretells signs indicating the approach of the Hour (the Day of Judgment)
As the Hour draws near, certain animals and inanimate objects will speak
It calls for believing in supernatural, extraordinary accounts as they are literally stated
The definitions of some terms
*Al-sibā‘* (predatory animals): Wolves and similar beasts.
*‘Adhbat sawtihi*: The tip of one’s whip.
*Shirāk*: The strap of a sandal.
The meaning of the Islamic Prophecy
In Islamic tradition, it is narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that the Hour will not arrive until a man’s own footwear or whip speaks to him. This points to the importance of being attentive and aware of one’s surroundings—including one’s family and the environment in which one lives.
A scientific approach as an attempt to interpret a prophecy of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)
The noble Hadith informs us of four phenomena—matters pertaining to the unseen—that defy the norms and the natural order to which people have long been accustomed, and which have remained unchanged throughout time. These are:
a) A person speaking with wild beasts (such as lions, tigers, chimpanzees, whales, and others).
b) A person speaking with the tip of their whip (the end of the lash, or often the head of a staff/stick).
c) A person speaking with the strap of their sandal (the thong or lace of the footwear).
d) A person speaking with their own thigh, which then informs them of what their family did after they left the house.
These are all extraordinary occurrences—especially considering the time when the Prophetic mission of Muhammad (peace be upon him) began, or the period in which he first articulated this prophecy. Muslims, who believe in the Oneness of God, accept this without requiring further proof; it is an act of submission and worship to God, the Lord of the Worlds. The non-believing West, however, struggles to comprehend the Messenger (peace be upon him), as they do not believe in God or His Messenger. How, then, could they be convinced that an unlettered man—who never learned to read or write, neither in the pre-Islamic era nor thereafter—could prophesy such extraordinary events—like those presented in this noble Hadith? And this applies not only to the time of his mission but extends even to the present day, where instances of humans communicating with certain animals have indeed occurred. In the following scientific analysis, we shall examine the statements of the Messenger (peace be upon him) through the lens of modern science. Let us begin.

A Dress That Doubles as a Mobile Phone
Regarding the integration of technology into footwear, clothing, or even parts of the human body, consider this example concerning apparel, as reported by CNN Arabic (London, UK): It may not be long before someone asks, "Can I take a call on my dress?" This is, in fact, possible if you are wearing the "M-Dress"—a form-fitting silk garment designed and manufactured by the British company "CuteCircuit." According to the company, the dress is equipped with an electronic chip; when it rings, all you need to do is raise your hand to your head to answer the call.
1 - The communicating with Animals
Consider the possibility of communicating with large mammals—such as chimpanzees, various other primates, and even whales—not to mention species like parrots.
In an earlier study:
According to reports and demonstrations provided by the company, Neuralink implanted devices in pigs and monkeys during its research phase. One notable demonstration featured a pig named Gertrude, whose neural activity was measured via an implant. Neuralink also showcased monkeys using a brain-computer interface to interact with games and on-screen controls through neural signals. Subsequently, Neuralink received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin clinical trials on humans in the United States. The company is currently conducting studies focused on helping individuals with severe paralysis control computers and communicate using only their thoughts. Meanwhile, Neuralink’s practices regarding animal testing and record-keeping during some of these trials have drawn public scrutiny and attention from regulatory authorities.
In a recent study (involving humans):
Elon Musk announced in a tweet that it had finally received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to launch its first clinical trialof Neuralink on humans for its brain-implanted chip, though it did not specify when the trial might begin.
2 - Speaking with a "Talking Stick"
What is a "talking stick"?
A "talking stick" is a simple yet effective communication tool that helps foster more balanced, respectful, and purposeful dialogues
In its simplest form, the "talking stick" establishes a clear rule: the person holding the stick is the speaker, while everyone else listens. This practice has its roots in various Indigenous traditions and has since been adapted for use in diverse settings—such as within families, workplaces, classrooms, mediation and facilitation processes, and group discussions. Despite its apparent simplicity, its impact can be profound. In many conversations—especially those that are emotionally charged—individuals often interrupt one another, formulate their responses while the other person is still speaking, or compete for more airtime. Stronger personalities may dominate the dialogue, while quieter voices fade into the background, resulting in discussions that are reactive, fragmented, or one-sided.
The "talking stick"
The transforms the very structure of interaction. By slowing down the pace of the conversation and clearly distinguishing between the roles of speaker and listener, it promotes mindful presence, provides emotional safety, and facilitates mutual understanding.
Why is this tool important?
The "talking stick" creates a structural balance, even in the absence of a mediator or facilitator. By restoring equal rights to speak, listening becomes an inherent part of the dialogue’s structure—rather than something dependent on individual personality traits, communication skills, or self-restraint.
A subtle yet significant shift occurs when individuals trust that they will have their turn to speak later. Without this assurance, people often listen with a sense of anxiety, waiting for an opportunity to defend themselves or present their own point of view. When equal opportunity to speak is structurally protected, there is no longer a need to compete for airtime, allowing individuals to focus instead on understanding.
This practice also upholds the principle that multiple truths can coexist; two people may experience the same situation in different ways, and both deserve to be understood. The "talking stick" provides a space to accommodate this plurality, rather than forcing the dialogue toward a single, predetermined resolution.
The "talking stick" is more than just a communication tool; it is a framework that supports emotional regulation, preserves dignity, and establishes a foundation for respectful dialogue. Individuals tend to regulate their own participation more naturally when they know they will not be interrupted, that they do not need to struggle for a chance to speak, and that their perspective will be heard in its entirety.
The success of this organizational structure relies on two fundamental commitments. The first is that only one person speaks at a time—a principle made tangible and clear through the use of a "talking stick" (a tool for managing turns in conversation). The second commitment—which the tool alone cannot enforce—is the maintenance of a civil and respectful tone; there is no place here for blame or personal attacks. While differences of opinion are welcome, contempt is not. Throughout the dialogue, participants always retain the right to "pass"—that is, to decline to speak. The choice is always yours: your voice belongs to you, and the decision rests in your hands.
3- A Man Talks to His Soles
The "Talking Shoes" project, developed by Google and YesYesNo, serves as a prime example of how brands can innovate interactive products that respond to the user. These shoes analyze the user’s movements and translate them into immediate audio responses.
How These Devices Work
The movement Analysis
The shoes utilize sensors to detect various actions, such as walking, jumping, kicking, sitting, or spinning.
The Audio Response
Upon detecting a specific movement, the shoe triggers an audio response, which may include words of encouragement or humorous remarks.
The Social Interaction
These responses can be shared across social media platforms—such as Google+—or displayed on screens at various events.
User Engagement
The project aims to enhance user engagement by transforming physical actions into interactive experiences, making the brand’s message feel more personal and relatable to the user.
The "Talking Shoes"
The project highlights the potential of wearable technology to create interactive and engaging products, allowing users to connect with a brand in new and playful ways.
4- A man communicates via his own thigh to learn what his family has done in his absence
Elon Musk’s Brain-Implanted Chips
The current "Neuralink" technology is designed to be implanted in the brain. It utilizes electrode threads to record neural signals emitted by neurons. The implanted device transmits the processed data wirelessly to external software, which then interprets these signals. If two individuals both possess such implants—along with the necessary additional hardware and software for connectivity—it could theoretically be possible to transfer information from one system to another via a communication network. In this scenario, the process would follow a path: Person A’s brain → a computer system → a communication network → a computer system/implant belonging to Person B.
As for the idea of implanting an electronic chip in a man’s thigh that connects to a woman’s thigh—in the context of contemporary science, this is currently scientifically impossible.
Implanting a device in the thigh—
Without accessing brain signals—cannot, in itself, create a mental or conscious link between two individuals. While scientists have conducted limited experiments in research settings regarding direct brain-to-brain communication using computers as intermediaries, these experiments remain extremely rudimentary compared to natural human communication; they fall far short of enabling the direct sharing of thoughts.
In summary:
Through this article, we have sought to demonstrate the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in our present time, using the limited scientific knowledge available to us. We have found that three out of the four prophecies discussed in this article have already come to pass, the fulfillment of the fourth prophecy may require more time, or perhaps our current scientific understanding remains insufficient to grasp the full truth—a truth that may manifest today, tomorrow, or at some point in the future. Ultimately, time reveals only what Allah (the Almighty and Majestic) wills to be shown to a specific generation at a specific moment. the remaining prophecies will continue to unfold, one after another, until the Hour arrives; thus, the miracles found within the Quran and the Sunnah remain an integral part of a Muslim’s life, furthermore, this serves as definitive proof of the truthfulness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)—who never spoke a falsehood—and refutes the fabrications of those who cast doubt upon the noble Prophetic traditions (hadiths)As for those who seek to "reject" these noble Prophetic Ahadiths, the truth is that you are the ones who are lying; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is truthful, and his truthfulness is beyond doubt. You may certainly work to refine and filter out narrations falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allah, but we will never allow a wholesale rejection of these traditions to pass unchallenged.
